| Ecology is the study of who lives with whom — and on whom. This unit follows the energy: from producers through consumers to decomposers, up the trophic levels where 90% is lost at every step. Then it watches populations grow — the explosive J-curve, the braked S-curve, and the carrying capacity where limiting factors call the stop. Next come the ways species live together: predator and prey, and the symbiosis family from win–win to freeloading to theft. It ends with the biggest consumer of all: humans — acid rain, dead zones, invasive species, the ozone story, and the carbon arithmetic of climate change. | Ekologia bada, kto z kim żyje — i czyim kosztem. AP Biology connection¶
This unit maps directly onto AP Biology Unit 8 (Ecology): energy flow through ecosystems and the 10% rule (Topic 8.2), population ecology with the exponential and logistic models (Topics 8.3–8.4), community interactions from competition to symbiosis (Topic 8.5), biodiversity (Topic 8.6), and human disruptions — eutrophication, invasive species, ozone depletion, and climate change (Topic 8.7).
