STAR Voting — Education & Test-Case Library

Most disagreements about voting methods are disagreements about arithmetic that nobody has actually done. So I did it. Every claim on this site is backed by a real ballot file you can tabulate yourself — STAR, Approval, Ranked Robin, RCV-IRV, proportional methods, and the classic paradoxes that separate them.

Interests

• Voting methods. How a ballot gets counted decides who wins as surely as how people vote does — and almost nobody is shown the difference. That gap is what the library exists to close.
• Programming languages. Python and Rust mostly, with detours through Nim, Haskell, OCaml, Elixir and whatever else looks interesting that month.
• Small katas. Little self-contained problems — an elevator simulator, a text parser — as a way to learn a new language properly.
